Project description

The project aims to expand urban living space, create vibrancy, and connect with nature, which is essential for a densely populated urban neighborhood. The architectural idea involves a roof that rises from the underground level like a piece of land, forming a multifunctional space beneath it using techniques that combine a green roof and transparent surfaces. Parts of the roof have been designed as communal spaces at higher levels to facilitate access and views of the urban landscape. Efforts have been made to extend the natural geometry to transform a two-dimensional structure into one where the roof layer emerges from the ground, creating a communal and cultural space underneath. This not only gives identity to the building but also helps in better spatial organization. Techniques involving the opening and closing of the roof and lighting, along with the application of green roof engineering, have created a suitable climatic condition. The building’s functions include service sections, a library, private study spaces, and a collection of diverse and gathering spaces. The flexible interior design allows for functional changes over time. Located in the center of urban traffic, with safety and thermal regulations derived from the green roof observed, this project has turned into a cultural hub for the city, adjacent to commercial and office uses and equipped with pedestrian pathways and social seating areas.
