Project description

The Museum of Sacred Defense of the Port and Maritime Affairs serves as a mirror, striving to establish a sincere and profound connection between new generations and the land of those who endured and fought. It reflects the heroic spirit of those who were born of this soil, whose hearts belonged to the sea, and who remain creators and guardians of its legacy. The museum does not only preserve the memories of a saved port city but also presents a port far stronger than it was before, embodying the essence of lives, passions, and ideals. These need to be understood by future generations and interpreted across time.

This place, with its emotional depth and historical value, holds the heart of the collection and stands as a symbol of identity that links the port to its culture and deep-rooted maritime history. The iconic ship, anchored to the legacy of the blood-stained city, should not merely be confined to its physical representation but must extend beyond, symbolizing something alive, ever-present, and tangible to those who seek its essence.

The visible dimensions of the Sacred Defense come to life through educators and guides, perceivable to the naked eye, or grasped intellectually. The sacred spaces project into the future, reminding us that not everything is visible or comprehended by mere sight. Some truths are only revealed to the mind, while others can only be sensed in the heart and soul.
